CROW SPIRIT SHIELD

This piece is part of the ‘Spirit Shield’ series which  is loosely based on the ‘Medicine Wheel’ of the Native Americans, the ‘Mandala’ of the Tibetan and East Indians, and the ‘Wheel of the Year’ based on Celtic/Pagan Spirituality coupled with my own meditations on it’s symbolism and meanings. This piece features different ‘ Corvids’ of North America: the Blue jay in the East, the Magpie in the South, the Crow in the west, and the Raven in the North. These birds all through various cultures are depicted as tricksters, thieves, gossipers, and magicians.  The elements fit so well with the ‘medicine’  they offer.  Wheeling and spiraling, ever to see through the veil of the unforeseen and the forgotten.

This print is a off-set lithograph, signed,
numbered and limited to 500 in the edition.
